I have been involved in the veterinary industry my entire life. I started working at Aboard the Ark when I was 14 and continued working regularly until I went to college. Even then, I came back home and worked at the Ark over the summer and during holiday breaks. I stepped away from PVC for a few years while pursuing my graduate degree and working as a therapist; however, I just couldn’t stay away. Over the years, I have worked as a kennel attendant, exam room assistant, and a receptionist. While I am often working behind the scenes in my current role, I still fill in at the reception desk or in the exam rooms, which allows me to continue to see our wonderful clients and their fur-babies. Outside of the office, I have an inquisitive toddler named Solomon. He is always on the go, which keeps me busy. He loves dogs and cats just as much as I do and is learning how to respect their boundaries and care for them. Our pets include Martin the cat and Finn the English Shepherd.

I live in Pekin with my husband Michael. We have 5 grown children between us. Our house is full of 4 legged kids including my collection of poodles Jackson, Tucker, Darcy, Buckley, and Giles; my cat who thinks he is a dog; and then there is Hank, my wonderful Labrador Retriever who thinks he should get to go everywhere with me- including work. He loves doing agility and obedience training at POTC. When not working or playing with my dogs, I enjoy crocheting and taking care of my flowers, fruit, and vegetables in my yard.

I have been here at Pekin Veterinary Clinic since 1996. From our great staff to our wonderful clients and our adorable patients, I am very lucky to have a career that I truly enjoy.

I started working at PVC in July of 2018. I grew up in Pekin and graduated from PCHS in 2014. I currently attend ICC where I am working on my associates in general studies while I decide what I want to be when I grow up. At home, I have 3 young children. If that doesn’t make life crazy enough, I also have a Golden Retriever named Gunner and a Golden Retriever mix named Vera. In my free time, I enjoy going to the movies and traveling. I love learning new and exciting things everyday while working at PVC. Also, seeing the cute and fuzzy animals always puts a smile on my face.

I am a Certified Veterinary Technician. I graduated from Parkland College in May of 2020. I have owned animals my entire life and always had a love for them. That is why I chose to go into veterinary medicine. I enjoy rehabilitation, orthopedics, and emergency medicine. I have particularly always been fascinated with exotics. I currently have a beagle named Fionna who I adopted from the veterinary technician program at Parkland. I also have a cat named Boots. In my spare time, I love to go rock climbing, ride motorcycles, play video games, and create art!

I started work as a kennel attendant in 1972 here at Pekin Veterinary Clinic. Throughout the years I have worked at different local area vet clinics and landed back at PVC to work again as a veterinary assistant.

My hobbies include bicycling and walking in Pekin’s parks. I enjoy fishing and the outdoors. My personal is a guinea pig named Groot. I also dogsit for my sister Candice from time to time. She owns an older, tiny pug named Juanita. I do enjoy her company. I have always enjoyed veterinary medicine and love being back to work at PVC, where it all began for me.

I began working at Pekin Veterinary Clinic in 2019. Over the past 8 years, I have held multiple positions in the veterinary industry- from kennel attendant to receptionist. I finally found my calling as a veterinary assistant in 2016 and have been assisting doctors in the exam rooms and during surgical procedures ever since.

During my free time, I enjoy spending time with my own fur children at home!  I have 2 dogs named Roobie and Syd. I also have 3 cats- Lavender, Flip Wilson, and Buck. When I’m not at home, I enjoy hiking and exploring nature or doing something outdoors.

My favorite thing about veterinary medicine is being able to help educate clients on new ways to improve their pet’s quality of life, as well as watching them grow over the years! I look forward to assisting you and your companions at PVC!.

I grew up on a farm with lots of livestock and have always been interested in helping animals. My dad was a hog farmer and my grandpa was a cattle farmer and we raised horses. We had several other animals including sheep and rabbits as well as dogs and cats, so my passion grew naturally through my childhood. I have worked in the veterinary medicine field as an assistant/technician for about 10 years with a few years taken off to raise my family. My husband and I have been married 25 plus years and have 2 boys that I consider my greatest accomplishments. I now have 3 dogs and 2 horses of my own that are a huge part of my life. After raising my 2 boys, I now barrel race my horses in my spare time and do equine massage therapy. I love spending time with animals and the satisfaction I get knowing I have helped in the best way I can. Pekin Veterinary Clinic has been a huge blessing to me to help me carry out my passion even more.

Hello! I’m Shyann Jones, I grew up in the small town of Elmwood, Illinois with my parents, an older sister, and three large dogs. I was always involved in sports and extracurricular activities! I became very passionate about the care and well-being of animals at a very young age. Biology soon became my favorite subject. I vowed to one day make it my career and to help be the voice of the animals.

I attended Robert Morris University for two years and started my career in Veterinarian Medicine soon after. I became a part of the Pekin Veterinarian Clinic as a Veterinarian Assistant in February 2020. I enjoy being a part of an amazing clinic and a wonderful team that I consider family!

I share my home with my small zoo! I have three pups: Zeus, Diesel, Tesla; and five kitties: Poppy, Sunny, Simba, Taz, and Tarzan. I enjoy spending my time with every single one of them whether it's long walks or eating snacks on the couch! I look forward to giving the same love to your pet!

I’ve been a team member at Aboard the Ark since 2012 and went through grooming training in 2014. I started working as a kennel attendant and a receptionist, but being a groomer has been my passion. I have always had a love for all animals and knew I wanted a career involving them. I currently have some cats, a Golden Retriever, and a German Shepherd whom I love dearly. This is truly a job I enjoy coming to and love doing.

I started working as a kennel attendant the summer of 2019 while I was home from college. I am currently pursuing an Animal Science degree at Iowa State University with the hopes of going on to get a DVM. You’ll see me at Aboard the Ark and Pekin Veterinary Clinic during summer and winter break.

I have two Chesapeake Bay Retrievers named Cyclone (cy) and Thorben who compete in retrieving competitions. I also grew up with horses, pigs, goats, chickens, and pigeons. I showed horses and pigs through my local 4-H club. I love furry animals big and small!
